Having huge brunch on the next day after the Oprarbal is also one of family's regular events. Again, Godzilla has organized Sunday Brunch at the best restaurant in Budapest, Gundel.

It's a very traditional and famous restaurant in Budapest, which opened in late 19th century. Dress code is "smart casual" for brunch. Godzilla knows the manager here and we always have good treatment.

We got the best seat beside the window.

The brunch starts around 12 o'clock but we skip breakfast for this huge meals. By the time it starts, I'm always half starving.

First, this Hungarian fried bread is served to everybody. A little bit chewy and sweet breads fill my empty stomach gently and slowly.

and then we all start attack!! Brunch is held in buffet style but chefs serve foods to guests in every corner. The above is appetizer table.

Normal salads are available but I'm the kind of person who try something SPECIAL in local.

I picked many different types of patet. I'm in full power from appetizer!!

Main corner!! Meaty and fishy and veggie... Even for dinner I don't eat that much but only this day, I eat like crazy from the day. Grilled lamb, roast beaf, hungarian speciality... Lots of lots of foods!!! While the chef was busy, I was pouring soup for myself but somehow it didn't manage it. I poured too much and vegetable hung out from the bowl.. Oh no!! Then immediately the chef came and she poured soup for me in a new bowl... Embarassing but nice service.

Again, I was full like hell but I can't leave Budapest without trying these desserts! Yes, each a small so I can handle them..

This is first attack. I went even for second. I thought I won't need any food for one week..

But they are reallllyyy good. I feel guilty everytime when I leave this restaurant but still, I look forward to visit here again every year. Great dining experience is guaranteed by the best restaurant in Budapest.

We had beautiful Italian lunch in this great restaurant! I smell GOOOOOOOD stuff even from the entrance!!

Look at him, stiring rissoto in a big bowl of Parmigiano!!

no,,, actually we didn't get any seats... It was full and we had to wait for another couple of hours to get one.. I smelled such a goooood Italian but had to give it up..What a punishment..

So we went to it's sister restaurant nearby. I went in and thought, "can we even eat here????".

After seeing risotto in cheese bowl, these cold appetizer in the counter was not tempting enough.

However, I was wrong. Totally wrong. Here, you can get not only cold appetizer in the show case but also a real warm dish. The above is grilled arthichoke.

and grilled porcini! So surprising that I can get whole piece of porcini in such a reasonable price! I know lots of restaurant saying "porcini pasta" but it's actually only flavoured with powder.

The appetizer selected by my husband looks also good. What a portion!

Since they showed me such a great performance, I decided to order the most plain main dish. Spaghetti alla Bolognese. These simple dish is the best where you can feel the quality from ingredient itselfs. It was of course, very very delicious. Pasta was house made.

My husband ordered something stuffed with cheese. It's like a between of Caneroni and Lavioli.

We were really full but couldn't miss dessert. Marone cream with Amaret flavour and suprise of Kiwi inside. Because of Kiwi, it was not heavy. The service was also amazing. The manager friendly asked us how the food are. The dessert was there new receipt and he was curious to know our feedback.

Real restaurant serve real capuccino.. I never expect that I can find such a high quality Italian restaurant in Budapest. I already can't wait to visit there again.

On the day I arrived in Budapest, we went to this one of the most crazy restaurant you can find in the world.

I mean, I wonder what this place used to be.. Scary painting are everywhere..

What a hell is this??? Time trip to middle age???

But it's actully the most fun restaurant in the town!!!

I was freak out from appetizer.  Hugeeeeeeee onion soup bread bowl!!

Cheese melts in the soup.. Hmmmm I was scared but it was goooooood!!

and here come our main plate.... oh my god!!!!!!! What kind of main dish it is???

Meat meat meat meat meat meat,,, and fruits and vegetables are also hiding in between.

You grab piece of meat from the plate, slice it for yourself and place it back to the plate.. We were more than 10 people but couldn't finish it...

Main dish is actually not only this meat bomb..

Here comes Hungarian dancer!!

Dancing on our table!!!! My husband tiped her but in between her breasts!!

Godzilla was more than happy seeing her shaking hips in front of him...

But I could say that it was such a fun night. We even had fun with the people dining next to us.

It was the night we arrived Hungary and soon I was deeply filled with fun, tought Hungarian spirits.
